As we continue to expand, we are looking for a dedicated Accounting Coordinator to lead and maintain accurate and compliant accounting processes within our organization.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to oversee key accounting functions, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, and support the continued growth of our operations. As our operation is still in its early stages, this role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing core accounting processes and controls.The ideal candidate will take a hands-on approach in maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactions, leading reconciliations, preparing reports, and managing external accounting partners. You will collaborate with internal teams to uphold the integrity of our accounting systems, drive continuous process improvement, and serve as the primary accounting point of contact within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Perform and supervise monthly account reconciliations to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Lead and structure the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all supporting documentation is properly transferred to external accountants for timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage our third-party accounting provider, ensuring all company procedures and guidelines are followed, and that all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and support documentation for audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory accounting requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to track and reconcile expenses, inventory, and revenue specific to our scooter rental model.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including managing depreciation schedules for our fleet.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to strengthen accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Review and assist in managing tax obligations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the accounting function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a valid CRC.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of core accounting principles and standards (GAAP or IFRS).
- Proven ability to lead and manage accounting operations in dynamic and fast-growing environments.
- Experience managing third-party accounting or financial service providers.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and internal controls.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Comfortable working independently while proactively identifying and addressing process improvements.
- Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in the transportation, mobility, rental, or subscription-based service industries.
- Background in audit or advisory roles at Big Four firms is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with managing fixed assets and calculating depreciation, ideally for fleet or equipment-heavy operations.
- Exposure to high-volume transactional environments, with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Prior experience in implementing and improving accounting processes and internal controls.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, procurement, tax, legal) to align financial reporting with business operations.
- Knowledge of Brazilian tax regulations and accounting standards (CPCs), especially related to asset management and service-based revenues.
