The Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting team, responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information. This role requires a professional with solid accounting experience, analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership abilities to guide and support the accounting team.

The Senior Accountant will play a fundamental role in the preparation of financial reports, tax compliance, and the implementation of effective internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of Accounting Operations:
Supervise and execute daily accounting activities, including managing accounts payable and receivable, posting transactions, performing bank reconciliations, and managing fixed assets.
Ensure the correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local and international regulations.
Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring compliance with established deadlines.
Prepare and record accurate and timely journal entries.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of accounting records.
Preparation of Financial Reports:
Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows) and other financial reports for management and stakeholders.
Analyze financial information and provide explanations for significant variances and trends.

Collaborate in the preparation of reports for internal and external audits.

Tax Compliance: Participate in the preparation and filing of local and national tax returns (e.g., VAT, Income Tax, Gross Income Tax).

Stay updated on current tax regulations and ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with external tax advisors when necessary.
Internal Controls:
Participate in the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial information.
Identify and propose improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.

Ensure compliance with the company's accounting policies and procedures.

Team Leadership and Support: Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting assistants, assigning tasks and reviewing their work.

Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the accounting team.

Participate in the training of new team members.

Other Tasks: Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support decision-making.

Participate in special projects and other tasks assigned by the Controller or Accounting Manager.

Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in accounting and finance.

Requirements:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent degree (excluyente).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with experience in medium-sized or large companies.
Solid knowledge of local and international Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (IFRS is a plus).
Experience in preparing financial statements and the accounting close process.
Knowledge of Argentinian tax regulations.
Proficiency in computer tools, especially spreadsheets (advanced Excel) and accounting software (experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc., will be valued).
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and high accuracy in work.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Leadership skills and the ability to guide and motivate others.

Proactive and able to take initiative.

Desirable:

Experience in internal or external audit.
Knowledge of English (spoken and written).
