Permits Compliance Program Manager, WHS

The WHS Permit Compliance Program Manager will play a role in supporting WHS Permits Compliance team's activities across Amazon's Brazil Network.
This role will provide technical support to oversee the acquisition and maintenance of operational permits and product licenses for existing facilities and future expansions.

Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance across multiple facilities and municipalities throughout Brazil. The role requires expertise in managing fire protection standards, operating licenses, retail product certifications, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Municipal regulations.

This role requires excellent project management skills, deep understanding of Brazilian regulatory frameworks, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships in a fast-moving business environment.

The WHS Permits Compliance PM must demonstrate the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, such as Operations, Real Estate, Legal, Public Policy, Construction, PXT, Finance, Launch, DCS, Asset Management, RME, among others, earning their trust.

The ideal candidate must possess strong multitasking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Key job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the WHS Permits Compliance Brazil Team in obtaining and maintaining all necessary licenses and permits for Amazon's warehouses and facilities, including both existing operations and new launches;
  • Conduct systematic facility inspections to identify potential compliance issues, develop action plans, and implement corrective measures;
  • Prepare comprehensive progress reports on permit renewal processes and compliance status;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Oversee and coordinate third-party consultants involved in the permit acquisition and renewal processes;
  • Maintain proactive communication with operations teams to ensure timely updates, renewals, and acquisitions of permits and licenses, particularly when facility modifications or process changes occur, adhering to all regulatory deadlines and compliance requirements.• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemical, operational or environmental Engineering, or related field;
  • Proven experience in managing environmental, health, and safety permit processes (federal, state, and local) within industrial, logistics, or commercial facilities;
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian EHS regulations and compliance requirements;
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging with regulatory authorities, including: Municipal authorities (City Hall), Sanitary Agencies (local, state, and federal levels), Fire Department, Agriculture Ministry and Technical Councils (Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, and Chemical);
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word);
  • Advanced English proficiency (verbal, written, and technical communication).• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously;
  • Proven track record in vendor management, optimizing costs while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting critical deadlines;
  • Collaborative team player with hands-on approach and proven ability to deliver results;
  • Strong bias for action and excellent prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to drive urgent initiatives to completion.
